Make-up Brush Holder

This is a pin that I absolutely love. For years now I've been keeping my makeup brushes in a hardbox pencil case. As we all know, makeup brushes can be really expensive. For example, a few of mine are Bare Minerals brushes and granted mine came in a kit, but I still paid like $40 for them. One of my brushes is a Mary Kay foundation brush, which I love, and it was only $10, but take that times like 6 since that's about how many brushes I use, and you've got alot of money out the door. Even if you don't spend alot on brushes, which is okay too (I'm a fan of bargains), it's still frustrating to be putting on your makeup and realize that something has ruined your brush. Now how are you going to apply that bronzer? Point being, we all have a makeup brush container/protector, but why not have a pretty one? Mine was simply a lime green pencil box that I had in high school. Not too pretty sitting on my bathroom vanity. When I saw this pin, I knew I'd have to make this, partially because it's pretty, but also because it's simple! All you need include:
                 - a box/canister/container that you like. I found mine for $5 at Wal-Mart in the kitchen section. They had a variety of shapes and sizes but I thought that this one would be the best for the brushes that I have.
                 - Pretty stones/rocks/jewels. All of the pink and white stones and flowers that are in mine I had in a vase from the flowers I got last year for Valentine's Day. Because I wanted to fill the vase up a bit more, I bought the green stones at Wal-Mart in the section with the vases, or you can find some cool rocks/jems near the fish supplies.

Depending on the size of your brushes, you'll have to fill up your container with a decent amount of stones to keep the brushes upright. Each container might look differently, simply make it yours.

This is what mine looks like.

Enjoy!

Who knew?!

So it's been more than a week since the last post but I promise there's a reason. I, of course, forgot my password; not even so much my password as my username. Typical. I swear I can never remember if it's gmail.com or hotmail.com or whatever.com.

With my absence I was able to experiment a little with some cutsy pins that were so obvious but something that I would've never thought to do.

Like...

Okay so this might sound stupid, but this is genius! Never in my childhood did I ever think to use a fork to dip my oreos in milk. Of all those times that the oreo suicidally sank to the bottom of my glass and I had to spoon it out of there; this certainly would've made things easier, so the other day, when the craving for chocolate came on, I was prepared. No more oreos at the bottom of my glass!

I know that there's many more simple but totally life-changing things like this out there so I'm continuing on my quest to make life much easier and oreo's more delicious.
